Marmedsa Noatum Maritime includes Environmental Management and Workplace Health and Safety in its Integrated Management System

Companies of Marmedsa Noatum Maritime have integrated the management of Quality, Environmental Protection and Workplace Health and Safety in accordance with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001

During the first trimester of the year, and coinciding with the 20th anniversary of getting the Quality Management Certification, Marmedsa Noatum Maritime, the leading maritime, port and logistic services company, has decided to extend this certification to the Environmental Management and Workplace Health and Safety as per ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.

In addition, the Group has successfully completed the audit process to renew its Quality Management certification as per ISO 9001:2008, thus continuing with its firm commitment to continuous improvement, which includes a commitment not only towards our customers but towards the society as a whole, aiming to set up a Corporate Social Responsibility model.

During 2015, the management model for the Prevention of Occupational Risks, which has been in place for over 20 years in Marmedsa Noatum Maritime, was adapted to the OHSAS 18001 standard. Simultaneously, as from February 2015, the company set up an environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001.

The audit process for certification started in November and was successfully completed in January 2016.

The Marmedsa Noatum Maritime companies which have integrated the management of Quality, Environmental Protection and Workplace Health and Safety in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards are the following: Marítima del Mediterráneo S.A.U; Universal Global Logistics, S.A.U; Combalia Agencia Marítima, S.A.

During the audit process, the scope of quality management as per ISO 9001 has included the new companies of the Komet Noatum Logistics group in Turkey; Marmedsa Bemarine in Algeria; the Agadir office in Marmedsa Morocco and La Pallice and Bordeaux offices in France.

The inclusion of Environmental Management and Workplace Health and Safety in the certification process is in line with the Group’s commitment towards society. In this context, the Group continues to develop a Compliance Management model and has reviewed its Code of Ethics, involving all organizational levels as well as commercial relations to customers, suppliers and public authorities.
